All 25 holidays count down in their own colors: a gradient, drifting decorations and an accent that carries through the ring, the numerals and the date pill. Pick Christmas once and it looks like Christmas on your cards, shared images, widgets, Apple Watch and the Live Activity. Free for everyone, and a switch quiets any event you want calmer.

35 ready-made countdowns across Holidays, Milestones and Seasons, searchable by name, with whatever holiday is coming up next waiting at the top. Your language picks the name and your region picks the date: Dia dos Namorados in Brazil, Mothering Sunday in the UK, October Thanksgiving in Canada, and summer in December south of the equator.

Inside an event’s final 24 hours a mini bar slides in above the tab bar with the title and a live "4h 32m left" readout, wherever you are in the app. Tap it to open the event, or keep scrolling and it tucks itself away.

A festival, a trip, a training course. Add an end date and the countdown runs to the start, then holds a live “Happening now · ends Thursday” state with a pulsing badge, a “Day 5 of 12” readout and widgets that flip at midnight, right through to the last day.

Some dates aren't over. Mark a past date as a Milestone and Kounts counts up from it: days smoke-free, years together, time since a big move, with a streak card and a gold ring filling toward your next anniversary.

Add someone's date of birth and Kounts counts down to their next birthday every year, shows the age they're turning, and keeps a photo timeline back to the year they were born.

Give every event its own photo gallery. Birthdays and recurring events group their photos by year, so each celebration builds a history over time, and when an old countdown reaches its anniversary, On This Day slides it back to the top of Upcoming.

One countdown library for the people you live with. Invite up to five people with a link and everyone sees the same events, while a switcher at the top of Events keeps your own plans separate. Your notes, reminder times and Important flags stay yours alone.

Rather share one event than a whole library? Send a link through Messages or Mail and up to 5 people follow the same live countdown, adding their own photos to one shared album.

Six Home Screen widget styles, from a cinematic Poster to a photo Grid to a stripped-back Minimal, plus Lock Screen widgets. Pin a specific event or auto-follow whatever is next up. Tinted widgets keep your photos in full color, and the Poster gains a tall extra-large size on iOS 27. On event day, a self-ticking final countdown lives on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island until the moment arrives.

Pull events in from Apple Calendar (multi-day trips arrive as full ranges), or mirror your countdowns back into it.
