Terms of Use for Kounts Apps

Welcome! These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of our mobile applications: Kounts (event countdown app), Kounts Flow (focus timer app), and Kounts Dose (medication tracker app), collectively referred to as the "Applications," and all related services. By downloading and using any Application, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Applications.

Medical Disclaimer (Kounts Dose)

Kounts Dose is a personal organiser for your own medication routine. It does not provide medical advice, dosage recommendations, or drug-interaction checks, and it is not a medical device. Always follow the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional, such as your doctor or pharmacist. Never rely on the app as a substitute for professional medical judgement, and always confirm what and when to take with your prescriber.

1. APPLICATION LICENSE

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the Applications for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or create derivative works from the Application
  • Rent, lease, lend, sell, or otherwise transfer the Application
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Application
  • Use the Application for any commercial purpose or for any public display
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Application or related systems

2. IN-APP PURCHASES & SUBSCRIPTIONS

Our apps offer free tiers and optional premium purchases. Each app's offering is described below.

Kounts Premium Subscription

Kounts offers a free version and optional premium subscription tiers:

Free Forever

The basic version of Kounts is completely free to use forever with no expiration. You can:

  • Create and manage up to 15 upcoming event countdowns at a time (events that have passed, and countdowns shared with you by someone else, do not count towards this limit)
  • Track up to 3 Milestones and keep up to 3 photos per event
  • Use default categories and colors, and the Classic card style
  • Access all core features indefinitely at no cost

Yearly Premium ($9.99/year)

The Yearly Premium subscription includes:

  • Up to 10 custom categories
  • Custom colors and symbols for your events
  • All card styles and accent color options
  • Calendar sync feature
  • 7 days free trial, then $9.99 per year

Billing: Your subscription will renew automatically each year unless cancelled. You will be notified before each renewal.

Lifetime Premium ($19.99 once)

The Lifetime Premium subscription is a one-time purchase that grants you permanent access to all premium features:

  • Up to 10 custom categories
  • Custom colors and symbols for your events
  • All card styles and accent color options
  • Calendar sync feature
  • One-time payment of $19.99
  • Never expires, with no recurring charges

Important: This is a one-time purchase. You will not be charged again unless you choose to make another purchase.

Kounts Flow Purchases

Kounts Flow offers a free core experience and an optional one-time purchase:

Free for Kounts Premium Members

If you hold an active Kounts Yearly Premium subscription or a Kounts Lifetime Premium purchase, all Kounts Flow premium features are unlocked automatically at no additional cost.

Kounts Flow Lifetime (one-time purchase)

A one-time purchase that unlocks all Kounts Flow premium features permanently:

  • Custom focus categories
  • All themes and accent color options
  • One-time payment — never expires, no recurring charges

Important: This is a one-time purchase. You will not be charged again unless you choose to make another purchase.

Kounts Dose Purchases

Kounts Dose is free to use with one medicine and its core reminders — including critical alarms, which are never paywalled. An optional purchase, Dose Plus, unlocks the full app:

Dose Plus Lifetime ($9.99 once)

A single one-time purchase that unlocks all Dose Plus features permanently:

  • Unlimited medicines
  • The full flexible scheduler (multiple times a day, specific days, cycles, courses, as needed)
  • Home & Lock Screen widgets
  • Optional iCloud sync and history (CSV) export
  • One-time payment — never expires, no recurring charges

Important: This is a one-time purchase. You will not be charged again unless you choose to make another purchase.

Dose Plus Monthly ($1.99/month)

For those who prefer to pay as they go, Dose Plus is also available as an optional auto-renewing monthly subscription:

  • All Dose Plus features, month to month
  • $1.99 per month, billed through your Apple account
  • Renews automatically each month until cancelled; cancel anytime

Billing: The monthly subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. No subscription is required — the one-time Lifetime purchase unlocks everything without any recurring charge.

3. SUBSCRIPTION MANAGEMENT & CANCELLATION

You can manage your subscription directly through your device's app store settings:

  • iPhone/iPad: Go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → select the app → Manage Subscription
  • Cancel Anytime: You can cancel any auto-renewing subscription (Kounts Yearly or Dose Plus Monthly) at any time. Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period.
  • Refund Policy: Refunds are governed by Apple's refund policy. For the Yearly subscription's 7-day free trial, you can cancel during the trial period for a full refund. Requests made after the trial period may be denied.

4. USER CONTENT

All content you create in our Applications — event countdowns, focus session logs, medications, schedules, dose history, presets, categories, notes, and images ("User Content") — is entirely your own. You retain all rights to your User Content. By using the Applications, you grant us a limited license to use your User Content only to provide and improve the Applications' functionality.

Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you maintain complete control over your User Content. We do not access, analyze, or use your personal data for any other purpose.

5. COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS

You agree to use the Applications in compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Applications does not violate any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other legal rights.

6. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

THE APPLICATIONS ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS-IS" AND "AS-AVAILABLE" BASIS. WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, REGARDING THE APPLICATIONS, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Applications will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Defects will be corrected
  • The Applications will be compatible with all devices or iOS versions
  • Your data will never be lost

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF BUSINESS, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Application or subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. TERMINATION

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Applications at any time, with or without cause, including if you violate these Terms. Upon termination:

  • Your license to use the Applications is revoked
  • You must delete the Applications from your device
  • Any unused portion of your subscription will not be refunded (except as required by law)

9. CHANGES TO THE APPLICATION & TERMS

We reserve the right to modify the Applications and these Terms at any time. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will notify you through the Applications or via email. Your continued use of the Applications following notification of changes constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms.

10. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The Applications may integrate with third-party services such as Google Analytics and Apple StoreKit. Your use of these services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the performance, functionality, or data practices of third-party services.

11. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is located, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding related to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts of that jurisdiction.
