In short: Kounts is a free countdown app for iPad as well as iPhone, Mac and Apple Watch, and it is the same app and the same purchase on all of them. On iPad you get a sidebar, a Home screen made for the big display, the Discover tab with all six countdown packs, and everything else Kounts does on iPhone. No ads, no account.

What changes on the big screen
A sidebar, not a tab bar
Home, Events, Timeline, Discover and Settings sit down the left, with your spaces and category filters under them. Tap a category and the Events list filters to it. In portrait the sidebar tucks behind its button.
A Home screen for the display
Your next event fills a wide card with a live days, hours, minutes and seconds readout. Every other countdown sits in a grid of art tiles with their rings, three across in landscape and two in portrait.
Up Next, floating
When an event is inside its final day, the live bar the iPhone shows above its tab bar floats as a capsule at the bottom of the screen, with the time left. Tap it to open the event.
Big moments, centered
The celebration after you create an event, the yearly recap and On This Day show as story-sized cards in the middle of the screen instead of stretching edge to edge, and sheets open as centered cards.
Packs in the sidebar
Discover is right there in the sidebar: follow game and film release days, your shows' next episodes, the moon and sky, public holidays in 22 countries or six faith calendars, and let the dates keep themselves right.
Slide Over keeps it simple
Put Kounts in Slide Over beside another app and it switches to the iPhone layout, tab bar and all, so a quick check on a countdown never needs the full screen.
The same layout on the iPhone Duo
Open an iPhone Duo and Kounts spreads out the way it does on iPad, with the sidebar down the side and your events next to it. Fold it shut and the tab bar comes back. You don't have to set anything up. And on any iPhone, Kounts now turns with the phone on every screen, so a countdown reads just as well held sideways.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a Kounts app for iPad?
Yes. Kounts has run on iPad since version 2.2.2. It is the same app as on iPhone, laid out for the bigger screen: a sidebar instead of a tab bar, and a Home screen that gives your next event a wide card with a live days, hours, minutes and seconds readout.
Do I have to buy Kounts again for iPad?
No. Kounts is one app and one purchase across iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. It is free to download, and Kounts Premium or any countdown pack you buy on your iPhone unlocks on your iPad too, with the same Apple Account.
Do my countdowns sync between iPhone and iPad?
Yes, with Kounts Premium, which syncs your events across your devices through your own iCloud. There is no Kounts account to create. Countdown packs are followed on each device, so a pack you bought is unlocked everywhere but you tap Follow on the iPad as well.
Can I use countdown packs on iPad?
Yes. The Discover tab sits in the iPad sidebar with all six packs: Video Games, TV Shows, Movies, Moon & Sky, Public Holidays and Faith & Traditions. The packs are on iPhone and iPad; the Mac app does not have Discover.
What happens in Slide Over?
Put Kounts in Slide Over next to another app and it switches to the iPhone layout, tab bar and all, so it stays easy to use in a narrow window.
Does Kounts work on the iPhone Duo?
Yes. Open the iPhone Duo and Kounts lays itself out the way it does on iPad, with a sidebar and your events beside it. Fold it shut and the tab bar comes back. There is nothing to set up.
Your countdowns, on the big screen
Kounts is free on iPad, iPhone, Mac and Apple Watch, with no ads and no account.
